I have a 10-watt K2 with the KBT2 installed. The KBT2 manual recommends a 14.0V power supply or battery life will be "reduced". It's easy to put my K2 on my station's 12V supply (which is really about 13.6V), but I seek a small switching power supply that I can adjust to 14V to power my K2 in the field and keep the internal battery topped off. I have a Gamma Research HPS-1A which is ideally sized, but I can't adjust the output voltage (and the filter caps are operating very, very close to their rated voltage).
I thought of a Ramsey Kits LABC1 with a 20V wall wart, but I suspect it would be electrically too noisy to consider. I could charge the battery with it, but not while operating any radio in the near vicinity. So I need a 14V DC 2A battery charger that's electrically quiet. Are there such things? 73 de Dick, K6KR _______________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Post to: Elecraft@mailman.qth.net You must be a subscriber to post to the list.
