What we must remember, Stewart, is that the radio amateurs of today are a different breed from those when we took out our licences. The qualifications are different and some newly licensed amateurs are little more than CB or 'appliance' operators.

Indeed, the K3 itself does not require any soldering and long gone are the days when amateurs needed to build their own equipment.

It's sad really, but just the sign of the times.
