I have one more report of this as well. I'm on the road right now and won't be home until Thursday. I'll dig into it ASAP when I get back.
If the file has the CRC-32 line at the bottom, it's complete and should be OK for restore. I pass the file twice during restore, once to verify that it is complete (and hasn't been tampered with) and once again to actually update the radio. So it's safe to try to restore from the file. There's not much going on between writing that last line and writing the status line. Obviously I have some problem that I'll dig into. Would you elaborate on "The Utility crashes"? What symptoms did you observe? I do have a problem with saving a configuration though. The utility crashes at the end when it tries to save the config file. A file is saved in the directory but I have not tried to upload it yet to test the integrity.
