This is indeed a bug, and it's been fixed in a subsequent version of the K3
Utility that is still being tested by the Field Test team.

We'll be releasing a new version in the near future that has this fixed (and
some other goodies).

The configuration file you saved is fine.  The crash occurs when the K3
Utility  trying to change the status line message to "configuration saved"
after the config file has been closed.  The code passed a resource
identifier when a string was expected.  

If you examine the config file with an editor like Notepad, notice that the
last line contains a CRC32 line.  That's the end of the config file, if it's
there, the file is intact.

I apologize for the bug.  It's embarrassing, but there's no data loss.
