The info,suggestions,and offers of help received on the problem are certainly appreciated. They did help me get my thinking straight enough to have success. The basic difficulty was that the operator didn't really understand how the computer program interacted with the radio.
So it was appliance operator error, or perhaps because he thought he was more than that.
