Hi Ihor, Regarding font configuration or not, I would feel constrained if someone came with a default set of fonts. On top of that, is there a set of fonts that is universally available? I don't see that in current environment with multiple Linux, macOS and FreeBSD. I prefer to stick with examples of how to do that in the documentation.
Regarding the example, I think users need to be aware that when they export to PDF through LaTeX, they need to adhere to a certain set of rules to ascertain that the intermediate LaTeX is correct. LuaLaTeX and polyglossia(or babel) can do a lot and are most convenient when you adhere to what polyglossia(or babel) is expecting from you. I would like to be a bit more pragmatic in our approach: The question I would like to ask us all is whether the feature branch handles more situations than the current implementation. If that is the case, why not go ahead and integrate it into master? The current state is an incremental enhancement that is ready for further evolution. If we have cases like the example and there is someone with enough expertise in multi-lingual LaTeX to provide a working LaTeX example that implements a complex scenario like this, we can see how we would need to enhance ox-latex.el to implement it. Well, actually, we would need to see if it is possible or not (i.e. taking into account that you can't fly on a donkey-cart - if you allow me the joke). And, if and when we all agree on a default, planet-wide font configuration, we can always add that to the corresponding fontspec custom variable.
