Since I looked a little at this too, I'd be happy to help you out. I'm far from an elisp/org-mode expert but I have a little experience and can see the general idea of what Earl suggested and what needs to be done. Usually it's preferred to keep the discussion here on the mailing list. But I think some general offline discussion and work should be fine so long as the main points are still discussed here. > it would be my first time contributing a patch to the Org repository, so it > may take me a bit longer that usual. > Would that work for you? Do we have a tentative target date? The impression I get is that there's no great desire to put arbitrary deadlines on work. This is not really a critical but, so there's no harm in waiting for a patch. I think Ihor and the org dev community like to encourage contributions, and to help people get used to contributing, so they can continue to help out with improving org-mode. Taking your time to learn things and feel comfortable with contributing is not only fine, but is encouraged! I've found everyone here to be very helpful and kind. It's a great community to be involved with (even in a small way). Someone please correct me if I'm mistaken in anything I wrote above :) -- Paul
