I don't see why this should be true in general.  Consider the case
where you are *not* using emacsclient: while in the middle of an
isearch, do C-x C-f: that breaks out of isearch and displays the new
file.  Since opening a new file from inside Emacs interferes with an
isearch, it is no surprise that doing it through emacsclient also does
the same.
