In this age of all-widescreen macs, I'd wager your choice would be to kill the
traditional view and keep widescreen?

The more I try to justify having a traditional view for Letters, the more I see
it as legacy, and I think the clamour for it is just the comfort of the
familiar speaking.

I hope I don't have to point out the basic math involved, but as screens grow
larger in side and/or denser in resolution, you get a lot more horizontal space
than you get vertical space.

Add to that, Apple keeps on cutting horizontal spacing. First they went wide,
then they cropped some more to put the camera on the Intel PowerBook. And now
they've gone from 16:10 to 16:9 with the iMac. The Tablet might as well come
with a single long row of pixels, for all I know.

So, I had been on the side of yeah whatever let's have them all. Now I'm in
cutcutcut mode, and I say widescreen 3-pane view should be the default.

You, hater, don't you think you could learn to love it? It's not fucking
brushed metal.
