I would say that both layouts are essential. Sometimes strongly prefer one or the other, and screen size can be the deciding factor of which is more useful. (I use the non-widescreen on my tiny 13" notebook, and widescreen whenever I have big monitors in front of me,) Letters should emulate NNW (the current NNW I mean) and allow the user to switch the layouts (in NNW its View->Layout). That's great. NNW also lets the user choose when the message list uses 2-line rows or single-line rows. Letters should probably emulate this as well. Multiline rows in a mail client can really convey a lot of information, and can be a lot better than the old-school spreadsheet-style way that Mail.app does it. _______________________________________________ [email protected] mailing list List help: http://lists.ranchero.com/listinfo.cgi/email-init-ranchero.com
