I've been looking at Mulberry and I can say that in terms of designing a UI and most especially in terms of handling preferences ther are few mail clients I've seen that are worse that Mulberry.

I would not EVER put up Mulberry as an example of UI. It's IMAP protocol implementation, however, is one of the finest to be found.
