Hell, even on a BGAN or a VSAT with 800ms+ latencies, IMAP can be
impractical.

I realize fully that I'm an outlier but I want to know if the issue of IMAP
only is already set in stone. What's the zeitgeist on this?

If POP will be supported via a plugin, will it be a core plugin? Or has the
architecture not been settled either?

Sorry if I'm rehashing a settled topic - I'm still working my way through
the archives, the search function is broken and a Google site: search is
breaking threading to the point where some topics are unreadable.
