My guess is that there isn't a distinctive "mail vehicle" that's not too parochial. A US mail truck (white and boxy) isn't the same as a UK mail van (red and more rounded), or France and Germany where they're yellow but with no distinctive shape. Heck, we don't even use the same words for them in the same language! A USPS mail truck looks more like a short ambulance to my eyes - I certainly wouldn't recognise it as a mail vehicle.
