I use an Apple Script called 'search/replace stuff v1.1' in which you can 
predefine your usual replacement criteria, and allows you to change the 
criteria when you need to.  I use this to just strip those pesky little 
boxes from the emails I really need to.

If you need it I can send off list if you cannot find it online, I think 
it is a fogcity.
