Did you create the script in OS X? For some reason, OS X's Script Editor 
won't create a new script that works with Emailer. At least I couldn't 
get it to do it. All it did for me is exactly what you describe, it shows 
up, but when selected nothing happens.

What I did to get around the problem was duplicate an existing, working 
Emailer script, then open it, delete everything in it, and paste in my 
new code. Save and rename it, and it worked fine.
