But both CD drives in the 9600 have their read laser go bad at the same time? And only go bad enough that only CDs burned since yesterday can't be read (all burned previously, or all other CDs work fine). That would lean more towards the write laser being slightly off. I could accept that, and that coincidentally both drives in the 9600 are sensitive enough that they can't read the burned CDs now. BUT, if that's the case, how do I explain the CD becoming usable after being read on a different computer? I would think if the drives couldn't read a CD, the CD would stay unreadable. Although, maybe it has just been a really really really amazing coincindence that the 9600 decides to read the CD after being read elsewhere, and it is just perfect timing of the 9600 drives deciding to work. But since I can reproduce the effect every time, that seems unlikely (but then, the unlikely will probably be the solution here). <sigh> I'm about to change the internal drive on the 9600 to see if the problem goes away. At least that will help narrow down if it is a drive problem or not. -chris <http://www.mythtech.net> ___________________________________________________________________________ To unsubscribe send a mail message with a SUBJECT line of "unsubscribe" to <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> or <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>
