If you are not sharing your files (with file sharing), Mac OS is notoriously hard to hack into. Worse that happens if someone hacks into your wireless is they get free internet. big deal, even a community nicety in some cases. ;-) My network is relatively open. I have wireless, a "G" network which is closed (does not broadcast its ID, so you need to know its name to logon but no password), and a "B" network which is wide open. Someone driving by can get on the internet with it easily,. All my shared volumes require modestly complex passwords. (nothing critical on them, its a home, after all!) If all you are doing is broadcasting an internet connection, without file sharing, the worst is someone gets on your internet connection and uses up some bandwidth. In most cases, why care? I appreciate the people in the town center who leave their connections open, so I can do email while I am down there. ;-) Mark James SoftRAID, LLC mjames@ softraid.com If at first you don't succeed, try, try a grin ___________________________________________________________________________ To unsubscribe send a mail message with a SUBJECT line of "unsubscribe" to <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> or <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>
