With the announcement that Apple will be changing processors and that Classic will no longer be supported on the new processors, it looks like we see the end of Emailer in sight somewhere in the 2-4 years time period. When the Mac OS no longer supports the current machines we will not be able to use our beloved Emailer unless someone hacks a way of running Classic programs on the new MacIntel machines.
Of course we can always just keep an old Mac around our desk just to run Classic apps like CE. I don't think we have much to worry about for a while unless Apple breaks something in the next few OS releases.
