I've actually been having this discussion over on the LEM-iMac list. My honest guess is, 10.5 and 10.6 will still run Classic on PPC hardware. So OS wise, we are probably good thru 2011 (10.5 is due out end of 2007, 10.6 in mid 2009, 10.7 will probably be the first OS that Classic is removed from, and that is due end of 2011). So we should be good for a while still on Mac OS X. However, the PPC line will cease to be sold new by the end of 2007. So hardware wise, we are looking at having to buy whatever we plan to own before then. After that, we have however long we feel the useful life of the computer is (for most people that is 3-5 years... my guess is, we push that time to more like 7-10 years). So really, by the time it is really an issue, chances are good all but the most hard core emailers will have moved on anyway (we are shrinking all the time). And for those of us that refuse to give it up, I'd not be the least bit surprised if there is some other emulator option available. There are already Mac Plus emulators available that will run anything a Mac Plus could run, which would include Emailer (I don't know how well they work with networking apps, but now I'm curious to give it a try and find out). So there will probably be an option for those of us that REALLY won't let Emailer go. Or, once I can't use Emailer any more, I may finally get around to writing an Emailer clone for OS X (if someone else doesn't do it first) -chris <http://www.mythtech.net> ___________________________________________________________________________ To unsubscribe send a mail message with a SUBJECT line of "unsubscribe" to <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> or <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>
