Hi friends-
My feeling is that our entire mentality must change before we really have an efficient economy. At the moment the mentality is a quantity mentality and we need a quality mentality. If we only could see that our entire purpose is unity with diversity, that we should be vying with one another for service rather than quantity and profit we might see computers that would last a long time. They have the Rolls Royce auto that lasts a long time, why not a computer?

It is getting to the point where a computer is a necessary piece of survival equip. and it is imperative we all have equal opportunity to communicate. We are dealing with a system, a social system and each system is comprised of three parts, i.e. Human and Material Resources viewed and utilized by human Communication. If we do not see the reality of these resources we then will be misusing them for the wrong purposes and create for ourselves a technological monster called materialism. It took 200 years for Rome to fall and I wonder how much longer we can hold out. I know I am sick of trying to interpret poor English from tech supports from India, Mexico etc. I don't mind that we are outsourcing but I do mind that we are not receiving proper service.

OK, that is my soapbox for today, sorry.

regards,
doug

I'm tending towards the opinion that the best business model would be to "rent" customers the software and renew the key each year. That way they
wouldn't be able to use obsolete software! (God forbid that it happens
but I can see the trend already).

So in that model everybody will be forced to buy a new computer every other year or so. On my Mac with OS 8.6 I run tons of obsolete software. In your
business model I could throw that Mac away....
