But I've >noticed that I get an awful lot of spam on that site that I don't get >when my mail comes from Comcast. Firstly, you really don't have to use your ISP's email for receiving you mail because most host services have POP or even IMAP mailboxes (as Dreamhost does). BTW IMAP does not work with CE but POP does. When you say that your incoming mail is posted on Dreamhost webmail, that is just a way of accessing your mailbox. YOU can access that mailbox directly from CE, as mentioned by others. Most host services have some sort of spam control that you can turn on and decide what level of control you want to execute. usually it just marks the email with an addition to the subject line. I happen to use ****SPAM**** and have a Mail Action set up in CE to filter them all into a folder. Let me look at Dreamhost, yes they do use SpamAssassin for even the basic hosting package, so you may need to go to your control panel and first enable SpamAssassin and set the appropriate level of control. I have mine set for 4.5 (out of 10) and I have set up a mail filter (in my hosting control panel) to delete all mail getting that spam score. You should do likewise but might want to get all mail delivered for a while first to see there are few or no false positives. Then you can implement a host level filter so you never even see the bad mail. Hope that makes sense to you. Cheers.
