Disk Warrior was recently suggested to correct a possible hard disk directory problem. However the current version 3 seems to have had only minimal upgrading despite various problems and does not appear to work reliably and consistently on Intel Macs. Now we know the reason: version 4 has been announced, orders are being taken, but not AFAIAA shipped. Probability is a major rewrite that is still being debugged. The cost has inflated to $100, or $50 to upgrade. So although the utility has a good history the jury is still munching sandwiches in the jury room.
