Dear Doug and Bea and others, Besides a nice Christmas and a happy New Year, i just want to mention that you need one of these tech freaks around who understands the principles of Wireless networking very well, and maybe work with 2 instead of 1 antenna.
Wireless is capable of working miles of distance, and you could even make a deal with a neighbour who has a better signal and share the cost. Before ISP's existed; people could talk to eachother at zero cost.. I expect them to re-introduce that as being a novelty somewhere around the year 2075. They make us believe that the cell phone and MSN are the main communications channels for a youngster to talk to his mom. In fact many communities extend their network themselves. I am running such an initiative myself, and I have a guru that installs 14 meter poles and specialised directional antennas.
