I have to say Tannis that I am fervently trying whenever I have an hour
or two of quiet time:) though I think I've given you all the impression
that I am a complete fool with regard to Claris in Classic System OSX!
I'm under extreme pressure at the moment with very diverse and very major
things going on - all of which require my use of Claris on OSX, and
thereby creating paranoia, - which is no way to sort things out!

The problem began with me losing my archived CE folders. My old PB stuff
was transferred by one technie and then another one got involved - both
supposedly understood Claris. As CE has always worked smoothly for me in
OS9 I didn't go into the tech details! Now with your help I've got to
understand it. I've printed out your helpful instructions and am
following them carefully.

Without bombarding you too much I would be grateful for your confirmation
 of the
CE SetUp> Preferences>Files and Folders window for downloading. It now
reads:
HD:Apps OS9:CE folder:Downloads which I think is correct.

The upper window labelled "Folder Containing Claris Emailer Files" reads
Mac HD: Users: beatrice hopkinson: documents: old PB stuff: Damaged Mail
(D). That does not look right to me.

I set up the Claris Emailer Folder with Tannis's hierarchy as follows:
-----------------------------------
MacHD:Applications (Mac OS9): Claris Emailer Folder. this contains the
following files:
Claris Emailer 2.Ov3 application
Claris Emailer Filesl...this has Mail Folder (with Mail Database and
Indexd); Address
                              Book; Applescripts; Temp Incoming.
Connections
Downloads Folder
Locations
Mail Actions
PPP Plug-ins
Schedules
Scratch folder
Services Signatures
------------------------------------------

I don't understand why the SetUp> Files Folder window doesn't
reflect this latter?
What have I done wrong?

Bea
