Dear fellow citizens, Maybe I am out of tune here.. but as far as I am concerned, I specifically use Emailer because I do not want an email package that has the ability to render (display/interpret) HTML.
Because HTML in message bodies, leads directly to ordering your next bunch of spam, and giving feedback (unintentionally), to commercial and malign companies. For that reason, on every OS X installation, the first icon I delete is Apple Mail. On every OS9, any outlook. Each and every customer where I work at the computer gets set to send out mails in text only, and 'not in the format they were received', which is the disguised phrasing MS-patients use to avoid a checkbox 'Never allow HTML in the main body of a mail'. I would like to find a way back to playing MP3 files (e.g. Winamp) by completely abandoning iTunes, because of its phone-home and store-link capabilities, which were on prime news in Europe today because the European federal goverment condemns that kind of force-fed commerce which is used to breed goose for foie-gras. I would be the first to have a console up displaying all I do with my computer to be seen in an anonymous way by a democratic authority, to be judged only on WHAT i do, and not knowing if they hand out a fine, if they're fining their enemy or friend (that's why lady justice holding a scale is blindfolded); but I will never accept that the commercial company selling the stuff, nor the competitor having an invested intrest in taking the stuff out of the market to push their own stuff, may or can have a tap into what I am doing. Each day that governments are shrunk, we are growing another government Inc, and we can clearly see that today we are already growing army Inc's. No company whatsoever has the right to get that kind of information, tied to an identity; and a government that is rotated every 4 years, and populated by mandatees that sign not to have any stake in any business, can have all of that information.
