Now that I have figured out the reason for my problem with attachments in
Emailer, what can fix it?

Problem is any attachment with a space in the name, breaks. Its name is
generally stripped at the space (picture 1.png becomes picture), and some
files, I think Apple double, come in two pieces, a 4k attachment with the
correct name, and a larger "name-stripped" attachment with what seems to
be the data, but is not a valid file.

I have changed emailers, so the problem must be in whatever translates
received files.

Could it be a Expander problem? (Expander seems to run OK)

What mechanism in OS X controls encoding/decoding?

Could the problem be in clasic? (I can try a new classic environment in a
few days)

No one else is complaining, so this must be on my end.
