I had OS 10.2.8 installed on a PowerBook WallStreet (G3/300). The
installation was native, i.e., it did not require XPostFacto. It works, but
it is exceedingly slow to the point of being about not useable.

I also had 10.2.8 installed on an upgraded 8500 (G4/450) via XPostFacto. It
ran at a reasonable speed, but it was cranky, and caused several problems
when I returned to OS 9.1. For one thing, all of the OS 10.2.8 invisible
files were visible in OS 9.1's Finder. That can be very dangerous, if you
just click ion the wrong icon, delete the wrong item, or change the wrong
thing.

I suspect that trying to upgrade the WallStreet to 10.4.x with XPostFacto
will make the WallStreet too slow to use, if it works at all. In addition,
I don't know what size HD you have on the WallStreet, but OS 10.4.8 needs a
whole lott'a gigs o' hard disk space.

One more thing... If I recall correctly, on a WallStreet, you will need
partition the hard drive. OS X needs to be within the first 8 gigs of the
hard disk partition. When I did the OS 10.2.8 installation on the
WallStreet, there was no way to assure that the installation would go where
it was required besides partitioning the hard drive into two partitions.
That required erasing the drive. I had a backup drive onto which I could
place my original internal drive's data before erasing and partitioning.
