I am actually afraid to turn it off first since putting the computer to sleep was the only thing that got the wireless card to work in the first place! I am pretty sure the card was still on at the time and I don't want to experiment now and never get it working again! Also, from past experience has taught me that I can't turn the card back on without actually removing it from its slot and re-inserting it.
