One of Renate's students is welded to an Apple word processor that saves
files with a CWK extension. I think that's Clarisworks, which I believe
has been taken over by Filepro. She's upset she can't e-mail her files to
teachers, because they can't read them.
Huh. MY copy of ClarisWorks came with a sample copy of MacLink Plus. It
doesn't have all the functionality of MLP, but it does allow me to
export to a few important formats, including MS Office 97/2000. But then
again, I bought CW 5, which I subsequently upgraded to AppleWorks 6. If
your friend doesn't have the MLP sampler, chances are she must have CW 4
or earlier. I believe that was only capable of saving Word 2 files, but
even that is better than .cwk files for a Doze user.
On the other hand, maybe your friend just doesn't know the power of the
Forc... er "Save As..." command.

The question is not whether the end justifies the means.
The question is whether the means are worthy of the end.
