<Thanks Chris,
Its simply that new mail received by webmail is not downloaded to me
promptly even though in 'options' I have it set to : 'Retrieve all
messages on the server". Until recently it was working just fine, but I
think the server has changed something which is delaying receipt of my
Email. As an example, Webmail received a group of Emails this morning at
11.00 a.m. but didn't download them to me until 4 p.m. I don't use
webmail or its folders or files, just Claris where I have archived all my
folders.
I was hoping someone else using Earthlink and Claris might let me
know what
their settings in Setup are so that I can compare with my own. If
someone can remind me how I capture a picture of the window I'll send it
as an attachment and
show how I've set it up. Bea

Okay, Bea -- I don't use Earthlink, but my ISP does have a webmailer,
and, when I get my email it does pull all my mail off my ISP's mailserver
(which, on the rare occasion I look at the webmail, I've seen that it
does put new mail into the Inbox). So, I'm going to send you an off-list
email with an attached picture of my Options tab. Maybe you'll somehow
find it useful even though Earthlink is not my ISP.
Please note -- the reason why I'm sending you the pic offlist is because
it's a bad idea to include attachments to a list mail. Some of us are on
dialup, and don't like it when our email suddenly "chokes"/slows down
picking up attachments we didn't expect, and frequently don't need to
see. Lots of lists actually have rules telling members not to attach
anything to their posts -- and being on dialup myself I happen to agree
with them. I've had it happen anyway, and yeah, it's annoying. Dunno if
THIS list has a rule like that, but I'd support it if it did. Attachments
belong offlist.
So, a pic of my Options tab from one of my Accounts is on its way to you.
Hope it helps.
