I'm not very sophisticated at this stuff, so forgive me if I'm missing
the point. But as I recall, when I switched to Mail, I had an
opportunity to convert all my old CE files, and I did.
Now I'm running 10.5.8, but I can still open all the post in my CE
folder dating back to 2001.
And I have old Word files that I can still open.
