Hello,

We have successfully used EMC2 in some CNC retrofits here in Brazil. We used
several hardware interfaces
from Mesa and Jon Elson. They have great products, but the
total price after customs duties is a bit expensive.
IMHO, open source and cheap ethernet and/or (rt)CAN based interfaces and, of
course, drivers for these cards are important features that are missing
right now.
Luminary Micro have some relative cheap Evaluation Kits. If EMC2/rtai can
handle the IEEE 1588 Precision Time
Protocol, we can use these arm chips that come with a motion-control Pulse
Width Modulation (PWM) module with 6 output channels and two Quadrature
Encoder and more...
I'm ordering one codered option
http://www.luminarymicro.com/products/lm3s8962_can_ethernet_evaluation_kit.html
!
I hope this worth the money!

P.S.:
I need say thanks to all developers for the great
work. I can see EMC2 is improving each day. I read in the irc logs Chris
Radek is working in the most important(imho) problem with emc interpreter:
G41 and concave corners . THANKS AGAIN!

Best regards,

Daniel
