No need to re-download.

Make a symlink named /lib/firmware/hm2 that points to your 
mesa-hostmot2/firmware directory.  You should have files with names like 
/lib/firmware/hm2/5i20/SVST8_4.BIT.  After that, the firmware=FOO part 
of the config modparam should say something like 
"firmware=hm2/5i20/SVST8_4.BIT".
