Hi Maxime,

Perhaps you should modify axis to have a "User" or "Custom" menu, with
customizable items. I'm thinking of Crimson Editor's "Tools" menu:

Then, people can add whatever programs they want: cad, cam, editor, browser
pointed to http://www.linuxcnc.org/handbook/gcode/g-code.html, etc.

I think most users get their machine set up, and never try to reconfigure
unless it dies. And they don't upgrade as long as it works.  IIRC, at least
one person was still using the 1999 version of EMC until several months ago.
