There is a much bigger assumption -- you are running servos, they have index,
index is routed in, and index offset between motors is known beforehand.


Sure, this is a reasonable and sensable setup for synchronized servo axis
(unless you want to "crab" all the way home)

I only mentioned servos, with stepmotors 2 home switches are likely needed
