This should be reported to the maintainer of the linux parport driver OR the
maintainer of the pci setup code, it 'should' be written in the driver who
that is, alternatively drop a mail on the kernel mailing list about it.

Now would be a good time to get it fixed for 2.6.37 ...

Well, it seems to be a bug in the Linux enumeration of the port. It
seems like we ought
to report this to somebody, but I don't have any idea who that would
be. Clearly,
this works fine on a number of motherboards in 8.04. I don't have 10.04
running on
anything here, so I can't test it. Anybody who has an EPP capable
motherboard should
be able to test it with 10.04 just by setting it in the BIOS for EPP and
then checking
/proc/ioports for the extra address field.

So, I don't know for SURE that this only applies to certain Intel Atom
motherboards,
but I'm guessing we would have heard about it by now if it was a broader
problem.

Anyway, I got Don Stanley through creating a script that would run
pcisetup before
EMC, and setting the pcisetup executable so it had privileges to run.
So, that ONE
user is in good shape for now.

Jon
