Well, since it's an IDE you were looking for, I'll vote again.

I started using Eclipse when it first came out and I was doing some Java 
programming. The list of plugins for Eclipse has never stopped growing. 
It's still what I reach for when I can't use Python but I nearly always 
use Python.

But now you begin to see the nature of the problem. Three people 
answering. Three+ different answers:-)

I'd say just pick one and get some work done. It's the only way you'll 
really learn what's to like and dislike about IDEs. Then you'll be ready 
to make a rational choice.
