Well I'm really just exploring the options what can be achieved as we go the 
route towards non-PC platforms and non-RTAI RT OSes, and I'm trying to validate 
how solid the ground is, or if it's quicksand; in that case I think it is a 
solid option and that work basically represents my learning curve and might 
help others to abbreviate theirs.

iow: yes and yes, I'd be happy to see takers - I'm quite sure this hardware/OS 
combination has some great potential; if you look around what is being done in 
the communities, Bas is the fellow far ahead, then it's a lot of 'hm, what 
about..'. I think we have base, and not a trailing edge one. That translates 
into: not a lot of other work to copy & paste from :-/

I didnt mention the hal_prudebug component has an example how to access the 
200Mhz timer from the PRU which is critical for any realistic results; actually 
there are at least two of them, I got one of them to work, the other one is 
lost in the mysteries of memory mappings.

that whole debugger thing could be made independent of HAL easily, but in our 
context I dont see much of a point
