Which looks to be an ideal solution since it can close the loop with 
encoders, or with its own output.  But that price pretty much puts it out 
of my reach unless the machine was making me some income.

Mesa I just looked at, also PMDX, but didn't find anything like that unless 
its a hidden feature of the FPGA programming.  So I could also just be 
dense enough not to grok that.
