<snip> NOTE: My comments were assuming you are trying to control physical hardware with the BeagleBoard-xM. The xM would make a great software development platform to work on LinuxCNC for the ARM, in several ways better than the 'Bone (faster CPU, more memory, built-in console & 'real' serial port). Depending on what you're wanting to do, you could play with LinuxCNC on the xM for a while, and get a 'Bone (or whatever other platform looks appropriate) when things are far enough along to drive real hardware. If you're wanting to twiddle I/O pins and control a real machine, the 'Bone seems to be the best choice for now, with a BeBoPr cape or something similar: http://circuitco.com/support/index.php?title=BeBoPr_Cape ...but the LinuxCNC part is still "work-in-progress". - -- Charles Steinkuehler char...@steinkuehler.net -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.4.11 (MingW32) Comment: Using GnuPG with Thunderbird - http://www.enigmail.net/ iEYEARECAAYFAlD5pp0ACgkQLywbqEHdNFxRjACeLYfm4xJvyy7cJWpzPKL7Utf1 LbgAoIgmkb6WNWhrPq05QseMdyfkyE/V =9LWC -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Master HTML5, CSS3, ASP.NET, MVC, AJAX, Knockout.js, Web API and much more.
