Synaptic refuses to install the lucid 2.6.0-sim, lots of libboost-
python-1.34.1 dependencies, but that whole libboost install is now 1.40.0.

Sounds like the buildbot doesn't have an active update-manager?  I'm a tad 
fanatical about that.
