You would be swapping a machine that works with an interface that is familiar and convenient for (at least initially) a machine that didn't work with LinuxCNC and with a user interface that is odd. (I don't actually mind Unity, but I tend to work with my Mac the same way, bring up the search and type the name of what I want.)
