Greetings all; In setting up to use a charge pump, needed to insulate an output from the fact that a 5i25, when lcnc isn't running, sets all outputs to inputs and pulls them high. So to prevent the vacuum that the axis flood checkbox control from being powered up when lcnc is shut down, I had to use a charge-pump.
Note different name, the loadrt name is charge_pump, but the addf name is charge-pump. That also was confusing, but its not the only such critter in our module.ko tree. More important, the loadrt line cannot contain either a count= or a names= number-of-the-beast control mechanism, its a show stopper syntax error. This is a handy bit of external control ability. But this limits it to one use only when additional instances cannot be put into play without additional hal trickery. Is it fixable so its loadrt and addf usage is made equal to most of the other loadrt capable modules, thereby allowing multiple instances? I realize that would break our presently setup usage, but that would be a one time .hal edit to fix. I think also that it could be synthesized with a mux2 per additional output needed, with their .sel inputs controlling whether or not the signals get to the additional control pins. But that seems as hacky as some of the other stuffs I've cobbled together in .hal files before. Being able to spec an instance by count or name, and net'ing its enable would be so much easier to read and follow for the next person that might own this mill when I fall over.
