I have my 6040 running a long time prpgram, and twice now I've gone out

So it is spontaneously going into single-step mode?
Yes. Twice now, but hasn't repeated since.
I don't even know how to do that deliberately mid-program.
Which GUI are you using?
Axis. w/lots of pyvcp eye candy. All we can do now is wait for the other
shoe to drop.
It won't get started again for at least a week, I need to get what's in
progress wrapped
up and maybe even boxed & out of the way.
Thanks Andy.
I've now got a little more info. IF I don't use the SS/pause buttons, its no
problem, but if I release the pause button after seeing that the loop is
behaving itself it will run to the back of the y, do the b target +360
while
stopped, then backup to the b target +180 so it is in position to
retrace the
path but 180 out of phase so it clips the peaks left by the fwd pass on the
backwards pass, but never starts the backwards pass, then is when the
undefined oword error pops up. So its stopped according to the buttons
status, but leaves the air and spindle running, clicking on the stop button
does not stop the air or spindle on the first click. And moving it with the
keyboard, nothing happens on the first key pressed, but normal movement
is done on the second and subsequent presses.
That is likely why I said a ghost was pushing the pause button? I had
checked one pass thru a loop, saw it was good, released the || button
and went to the house to do something else. Those stops were all mid-move,
this is a refusal to initiate the highlighted move in the text trace window.
IMO, 2.9.0 isn't quite ready for an official release. One of the things
I did after
dinner was surrounded was to update it all, and reboot. Same error,
before and
after.
Take care and stay well.
Cheers, Gene Heskett.
