Dear all,

I finally got around to having a look on my Intel ThinkPad 230. The image boots
fine, has a cute Tux with an endmill as a splash in the upper-left quadrant of
the early boot screen next to the typical ascii output. Even though only a
USB-2.0 stick, everything booted up very quickly.

I chose the graphical live CD. That started fine, except for a window popping
up with the message 'Plugin "(null)" could not be loaded, do you want to
remove it from the xfce4-panel configuration'.

The keyboard layout is US with no immediate idea how to change it to something
else - eventually found it, but no alternative layout is offered in
"Applications -> Settings -> Keyboard".

The image is already quite large (~4GB) with a considerable amount of
documentation offered in the menus. I suggest to leave only the HTML of the
English with pointers to the online variants of other languages to reduce the
footprint of the image.

And then, I wish the users of LinuxCNC would discuss how they want to use (or
see used) the LiveCD. Could we not possibly find some special interest group
that would want to shape it all a bit?

Steffen
