Main Responsibilities/Duties of Job:

Will coordinate environmental compliance projects across all 6 Tyco Safety
Products SBUs for compliance with the RoHS, WEEE and Packaging Directives as
well as Amendment 24 and ISO 14000 compliance and other Directives as they
evolve.  Short term focus will be to make sure the projects are in place to
implement the "Lead Free" initiative for the business units.  Longer term will
be to meet other compliance requirements. 

Initial thoughts are to establish an "Environmental Council" within TSP, made
up of the appropriate Regulatory, Product Development, Logistic, Manufacturing
and Service people from the respective 6 SBUs.  The incumbent will chair this
Council. 

Extensive travel will be involved to meet with the appropriate people in the
SBUs and at the respective factories manufacturing TSP products to set up the
Council.


Minimum Position Requirements:

Project line management experience in developing, releasing, manufacturing and
introducing new electronic products.  Regulatory experience / understanding of
product safety certifications.  BS in one of the engineering disciplines,
excellent communication and negotiating skills and understanding of
engineering and manufacturing are required.   World-wide travel required. 


EXPERIENCE: 10 years in areas noted.

EDUCATION:  Bachelor of Science in one of the engineering disciplines, ideally
mechanical or electronics.

SKILLS:  Excellent communication abilities and negotiating skills;
understanding of engineering and manufacturing are required.  Incumbent must
be able to effectively interact with Director and VP levels as well as first
level managers and engineers on a cross organizational basis.

OTHER:  Willing to travel.
