Hello, The standard giving presumption of conformity is EN 50130-4 for alarm systems. If it has a SRD then EN 301 489 applies in addition. That may seem redundant (and in large part it is) but the test ranges and methods of various tests do not correspond exactly. There are also notes in the radiated immunity test procedure of EN 50130-4 referring to what is acceptable performance in the exclusion band of the transmitter/receiver as defined by EN 301 489. As a side note it has been my observation that most EMC test facilities where their main business is not alarm systems, usually don’t notice all the requirements of EN 50130-4. The most common fault is failing to perform and or document the results of the reduced functional tests as required by the standard. In the case of an intruder alarm the reduced functional tests would be defined in the relevant part(s) of the EN 50131 series. We would like to use EN 50130 (alarms) which uses 10 v/m RF immunity test. The product is also a SRD and is therefore under R&TTE where EN 50130 is not harmonized. For SRD EN 301 489 uses only 3 v/m. Can it be true that you can degrade the immunity requirements of a product just by adding a SRD function? I know that R&TTE D accept the use of standards from the EMC D, but can we state that the alarm standard shall be used or can they choose between the standards?
