Hi Kim, My opinion is that you shall apply the EMC D for the alarm part and the R&TTE D for the SRD part.
Alarm functions: EN50130 SRD functions: R&TTE D EMC part: EN301 389-3 R&TTE D radio parts: EN 300 220-2/-3 or EN 300 330-2 or EN 300 440-2 Rationale: The main function for the device is the alarm function while the SRD part obvious is extra features. But keep the exclusion band for the SRD functions in mind when you are testing the alarm functions. We would like to use EN 50130 (alarms) which uses 10 v/m RF immunity test. The product is also a SRD and is therefore under R&TTE where EN 50130 is not harmonized. For SRD EN 301 489 uses only 3 v/m. Can it be true that you can degrade the immunity requirements of a product just by adding a SRD function? I know that R&TTE D accept the use of standards from the EMC D, but can we state that the alarm standard shall be used or can they choose between the standards?
