If your young engineer really wants to understand power electronics, I found this book a good reference 30+ years ago. Fundamentals haven’t changed. SWITCHMODE POWER CONVERSION ( Theory & Design) ISBN 0-8247-7234-2 And, having the ability to understand EMC in both the time domain and the frequency domain with ease, is a must-have.
