Hi Richard

The tuning required by the 2020 is a real pain but for now there is no
other way to handle it.  What distribution of EMC are you using?  I ask
because there are different diagnostic tools from BDI to EMC2.

If the Linux box and the EMC on it is able to run another machine using
the same parport and step-and-direction signals, my first thought is
that it is not the EMC.

A couple things come to mind.  Is it possible that the R2020 is not
dropping out of tuning or SPI mode and accepting step-and-direction
signals?  Is it possible that there is a broken wire or connection
between the Linux box and the drive?
